Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the blocking of a nozzle and variation of the injecting direction of ink by a method wherein a cleaning liquid injecting nozzle is provided so as to be corresponding to each of the ink jet nozzle and a cleaning liquid is injected against the nozzle after printing operation is finished. CONSTITUTION:At first, a charging and deflecting electrode unit A arranged before the ink jet nozzle 3 of a nozzle plate 2 is moved upwardly, subsequently, a supporting body B for a nozzle cleaning device is moved to oppose the cleaning liquid injecting nozzle 5 and an air nozzle 8 to the nozzle 3 of an ink jet head 1. Next, the cleaning liquid from a supplying system 7 therefor is injected against the nozzle 3 from each nozzle 5 through a ramifying device 6 to wash off the ink 4 adhered to the outer periphery of the nozzle 3.
