Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the whole chuck compact and further enable a work to be supplied and discharged from one side to the other by providing a power for driving claws apart from a cylindrical rotor.
CONSTITUTION: Claw pieces 8 are opened by operation by a hydraulic cylinder 23 to supply a work 7 from behind to the position of claws 8 on the axis of a rotor 5. The work 7 is located there and clamped by advancing operation of the hydraulic cylinder 23 so that the clamped work 7 is worked by the rotation of the rotor 5. When the work 7 is completely worked and rotor 5 is stopped together with the motor the work 7 is released from the clamp of the claws by the retreat of the cylinder 23 to be discharged from the side opposite to the supply side, and thus the efficiency of work is improved.
