Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent surface damage by a chaser at the inverting time of any work to be machined and to enhance the working efficiency by providing an automatic cutup device which is to move the tool backward to the area outside the machining work automatically when the machining is completed.
CONSTITUTION: A work to be processed 100 proceeds rightwise while processed by a chaser 10 and, immediately before completion of the machining, the tip of the work 100 contacts a cutup lever 41, which is pushed to the right. Subsequently, a stooper pin 46 begins to separate from a groove 19 and the tool holder 1 begins to rotate by and by clockwise driven by the force and torque of a spring 20. When the pin 46 is detained by the groove 19 no force is applied any more to the tool holder 1, and quick rotation is actuated and the tool 10 moves back in the radial direction till the area where no machining takes place. Thus, tool can be moved back to this safe area automatically when that process of machining work is completed.
