PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of high pressure at the time of expansion of cooling liquid by making higher the working pressure of a positive-pressure valve mechanism on the side of a radiator in the case when the pressure of the cooling water is controlled by opening or closing the positive-pressure or negative-pressure valve mechanisms provided at the cap of the radiator or a reserve tank. CONSTITUTION:Even when the temperature of the cooling liquid rises due to the operation of an engine and thereby the cooling liquid is expanded, the dish-shaped valve body 30 of the negative-pressure valve mechanism 13a is pressed against a valve seat packing 25 and thereby a passage 32 is blocked up in the radiator cap 11a on condition that the pressure inside the radiator is lower than a set value, e.g. less than 0.9kg/cm<2>. When the pressure in the radiator rises above the aforesaid set value later, the dish-shaped valve body 24 of the positive-pressure valve mechanism 12a is opened against a spring 27 and a part of the cooling liquid is led into a reserve tank 3 through a conduit pipe 34. When the pressure inside the reverse tank rises above a set value, e.g. above 0.5kg/cm<2>, the positive-pressure valve mechanism 12b inside a reserve cap 11b is operated to open, whereby a steam is released from a conduit pipe 35.
