Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the increase in the starting current of s cage type rotor and suppress the harmonic wave loss of the rotor by removing the casting conductor of the opening of a slot when the rotor conductor is cast, thereby eliminating the leakage magnetic flux out of an iron core. CONSTITUTION:When aluminum or the like is cast in a semiclosed slot 2 formed on the outer periphery of a rotor iron core 1 to form a rotor conductor 3, laser light rays 5 are irradiated to the conductor in the opening 2a of the slot to remove it. Thus, it can eliminate the leakage magnetic flux externally of the opening 2a to suppress the decrease in the leakage reactance at the starting time and to suppress the increase in the starting current and reduce the harmonic wave loss even at the operating time. Since the laser rays 5 are employed at the time of removing work, it is simple and does not adversely affect the iron core 1.
