Abstract
PURPOSE:To catch the part of the shadow of the flaw in a convex part, etc. by comparing the level of luminous energy of a reflected light at two points positioned in the direction of the path of the light and separated at a desired interval. CONSTITUTION:A light from a light source 1 is applied to a substance 3 to be inspected in the longitudinal direction thereof by an optical fiber 8 through the intermediary of a lens 2. Numerals 9a and 9b indicate optical fibers for receiving light which detect the reflected light of the light applied to the substance 3 to be inspected, and the light-receiving ends 9a' and 9b' thereof are arranged in parallel and at a prescribed interval in the direction of the path of the light irradiated from the optical fiber 8 for projection. Light-receiving elements, amplifiers and a division circuit are shown by numerals 5, 6 and 7 respectively. When the received- light photoelectric level ratio between the optical fibers 9a and 9b exceeds a reference level set before-hand, the determination that there is a flaw is given.
