Abstract

PURPOSE:To record and reproduced audio signals even when a magnetic tape is run at a low speed, by superposing an audio signal upon a video signal through spectrum diffusion and modulation and by recording and reproducing the superposed signal through frequency modulation. CONSTITUTION:An audio signal is inputted to input terminal 1 and modulated by spectrum diffusing modulator 3 to be superposed by adder 4 upon a video signal from input terminal 2. The output of adder 4, after being frequency-modulated by frequency modulator 5, is supplied to rotary transformers 9 and 10 via recording amplifier 6 and recording-reproduction change-over switches 7 and 8. Then, the FM signals supplied to rotary transformers 9 and 10 are recorded on magnetic tape 15 by video heads 13 and 14. The FM signals reproduced by video heads 13 and 14 are inputted to frequency demodulator 21 via rotary transformers 9 and 10, recording-reproduction switches 7 and 8, preamplifiers 18 and 19, and head change-over switch 20, and further inputted to spectrum diffusion demodulator 23.
