Abstract

PURPOSE: To give the interchangeability with torque convertor and at the same time improve the power transmission efficiency by a construction wherein the transmission of torque is done by a centrifugal clutch instead of by the use of working fluid.
CONSTITUTION: An output shaft 7 is extended into a transmission 8 and a sun gear 10 is releasably supported on a stator shaft 9. A pinion 11 is respectively engaged with the gear 10 and a ring gear 12. A carrier(disc) 13' extending from the pinion 11 is fixed to the output shaft 7 and at the same time engaged with the spline grooves of the gear 12 and constituted a clucth 15 to control the transmission of the torque from a housing 6 to the gear 12 cooperating with plates 14 holding in the inside wall of a housing 6. The clutch 15 is actuated by a weight 16 moving radially and outwards by centrifugal force. A braking device 17 is provided on the shaft 9 and gives a braking force to the gear 10 and controls the transmission of the torque to the shaft 7. Also the shaft 7 is connected to a clutch 18 with a brake. According to the above described construction, the torque is transmitted by a mechanical means and as a result the transmission efficiency can be improved.
