Abstract

PURPOSE:To eddy intake to improve combustion efficiency by making a linear portion of an intake port at an opening on the side wall of cylinder head eccentric so a curved portion of the same at an opening on the combustion chamber, and biasing within the linear portion, mass center of the intake air to the peripheral wall side of the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:An intake port 5 and exhaust port 6 are formed parallel to the center line P-P perpendiculr to a side wall 2a of cylinder head and the intake port 5 consists of a linear portion 5c shown by a-b at the opening 5b side of cylinder side wall and a curved portion 5d shown by b-c and curved longitudinally at the opening 5a side of combustion chamber. While the curved portion 5d has the circular section centering about S1, the linear portion 5c has the trapezoidal section centering about S2. Said sectional centers S1, S2 are formed spaced respectively by distances l1, l2 from the center line P-P, while l2 is larger than l2 so that the linear portion 5c is shifted to the peripheral wall 4a side of the combustion chamber.
