Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of an additional power transmission element other than a fly-wheel secured to a crankshaft and a fan provided with an outer peripheral ring to provide a cooling device at a reduced cost by resiliently contacting the fan against the outer periphery of the fly-wheel in order to allow the fan to be rotated directly by rotation of the fly-wheel. CONSTITUTION:A crankcase 1 has a hub 2 formed on one side thereof. An end of an arm 3 is mounted at 4 for pivotal motion on the hub 2. An axial-flow type fan 5 which has a ring 6 integrally provided on an outer periphery thereof and is molded with a synthetic resin or the like is rotatably supported at 7 on an end of the arm 3. A spring 8 is extended between the crankcase 1 and the arm 3 to resiliently urge the arm 3 towards one side of the crankcase in order to resiliently contact the ring 6 of the fan 5 against the outer periphery of a fly-wheel 10 secured to a crankshaft 9. By this construction, the ring 6 is followingly rotated by rotation of the fly-wheel 10 so that winds produced by the fan 5 are blown against a cooling fan 13 to thereby cool a cylinder 11 and so on.
