Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain enteric gelatine powder, soluble in the intestines, having excellent stability, and handy to carry, by mixing calopeptide which is a peripheral vessel dilating component obtained from an animal of Otariidae family, with vegetable sterol, etc. and an enteric substrate, and pulverizing the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Enteric gelatin powder is prepared by pulverizing a homogeneous mixture obtained by mixing (A) calopeptide which is a peripheral vessel dilating component obtained from an animal of Otariidae family, (B) at least one component selected from a vegatable sterol having blood cholesterol level depressing activity, wheat germ oil, royal jelly, honey, vitamin A, vitamin E, etc., and (C) an enteric substrate obtained by dissolving gelatin, a diluting assistant, binder, etc. in a weak alkaline equeous solution. The decomposition of the effective component in gastric juice can be prevented, the stability is improved and the effective component is made to be taken easily by oral administration. The powder thus obtained has peripheral vessel dilating activity, blood cholesterol level suppressing activity, and nourishing activity.
