Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure a phase comparing action over the entire period of the input signal and thus reduce the effect of the noise, by earthing the emitter of a transistor to which the input signal is applied via a resistance. CONSTITUTION:The input signal is applied to the terminals 1 and 2, and the output of a voltage control oscillator. The resistances 18 and 19 are connected to the emitters of the transistors 3 and 4 to which the input is applied and then earthed. Thus, the transistors 3 and 4 never cause the switching, and the phase jitter due to the noise voltage is not fixed any more with every period. At the same time, the signal currents of the transistors 3 and 4 increase in proportion to the increment of the input level. As a result, the phase comparison gain is increased.
