Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct forming of a number of units in a lot between the upper and lower setting boards of a press by arranging an intermediate die plate between upper and lower die plates and by forming a cavity between the die plates which are adjacent vertically.

CONSTITUTION: The upper die plate 2 whereon a core 9 is formed is provided on the lower surface of the movable upper setting board 1 of the press, while the lower die plate 4 whereon a core 9 is formed is provided on the upper surface of the fixed lower setting board 3 of the press, and the intermediate die plate 5 with cavities 6 formed on the upper and lower surfaces thereof is provided between the upper and lower die plates 2 and 4. And, a forming material 15 is set on the intermediate die plate 5 and the lower die plate 4 and the die plates 2, 4 and 5 are heated through the intermediary of a heat medium passing through heat exchange pipes 10. Simultaneously, the die plate 2 is lowered by a press and, with lowering of the die plate 2, the die plate 5 is lowered under the guidance of a lower guide pin 12, and the pin 12 being inserted into the guide concave hole of an upper guide pin 13, the forming material 15 is pressed between the die plate 5 and the die plate 4 and between the die plate 2 and the die plate 5 to be formed.
