Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform zooming while satisfying heat resistance, chemical resistance, radiation resistance and explosion-proofness by incorporating a zooming mechanism to the image pickup adapter of an observing device and providing a zooming controller near a direct viewing adapter. CONSTITUTION:The observing device consists of a photographing adapter 11 consisting of an optical system incorporated with a zooming mechanism, a bundled optical fiber 12 for direct transmission of images, a direct viewing adapter 13, a zooming controller 15 and a wire 16. The zooming mechanism in the image pickup adapter is controlled by the zooming controller near the direct viewing adapter 13 via the wire. It is also possible to use a fluid pressure cylinder such as of hydraulic pressure or pneumatic pressure in place of the wire for the zooming controller 15.
