Abstract
PURPOSE:To make effective use of bituminous coal by charging iron oxide, a slag making agent and bituminous coal from the top of an extra-high-pressure blast furnace having a prescribed furnace top pressure and blowing grained coal, gaseous fuel and liquid fuel together with hot blast from the lower tuyeres. CONSTITUTION:Iron oxide, a slag making agent and chiefly bituminous coal as carbon for reducing are charged from the top 1 of an extra-high-pressure blast furnace of which the standard furnace top pressure is 3.0kg/cm<2>, into the furnace through a charging bell 7 alternately in the laminar state, and are packed from a hearth 5 up to the stock line 8 of a shaft 2. The hot blast sent from the annular pipe 10 of a blower via a branch 11 and a bend 12 is intimately mixed with the grained coal, gaseous fuel and liquid fuel which are sent through a fuel blow pipe 15, either in a blast injection pipe 13 or a tuyere 14, and these are blown into the furnace. Thereby, the bituminous coal is used effectively.
