Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent sticking of oil spots and improve the yields of product by installing fine oil particle adsorbing members along the edges of the material to be coated with oil.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of adsorbing members 2 are provided across the electrostatic oil coating region of a micron oiler 1, and are extended in parallel along both right and left edges of a strip S. The adsorbing members 2 consisting of plural pieces of wires combined in parallel and proximity and used, and the mutual width of the adsorbing members 2 is adjusted by being expanded and contracted by the revolution of a motor 5. The adsorbing members 2 are kept connected to the anode side, and their correct positions are at the same height level as that of the strip S and in the outer position in extreme proximity to the edges. If electrostatic oil coating is performed in such a state, the charged oil drops on the oiler electrode sides are adsorbed on the adsorbing members 2 of high voltage potential irrespective of the presence or absence of the charge release of the stuck particles in the edge parts of the strip S and the charge is removed simultaneously.
