Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the strip from the rupture, and to carry out the cold rolling work in good productivity for obtaining products in various thicknesses, by unifying the thickness of blank materials on the feed-in side of the cold rolling stand into a thick size, and by giving a large rolling reduction to thickness in the first stage of the tandem rolling line.
CONSTITUTION: In a cold rolling plant for the strip constituted of plural rolling stands, the thickness of the blank material on the feed-in side of the first rolling stand of the tandem cold rolling mill is substantially unified into ≥2.5mm thick size irrespectively of the aimed product thicknnes on the run-out side of the final finishing stand. The blank materials in this unified thickness are successively welded and are fed to the first stand and are rolled into the strips oin desired various thicknesses while the draft percentage is distributed in the tandem cold rolling mill so as to make the draft percentage in the first stage higher than other stages.
