Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the ground economically and effectively by compacting the ground by means of twistedly directioned vibration force and vertically directioned vibration force.
CONSTITUTION: A steel pipe 7 is penetrated down to a given depth underground 8 by means of a vertically directioned vibration by operating a composite vibrator 2, and a twisted vibration (b) and the vertical vibration (a) are alternately or concurrently applied to the steel pipe 7 by the composite vibrator 2 for compaction of the ground. While repeating such penetration and withdrawal operations, the steel pipe 7 is drawn up to the ground's surface, where the twistedly and vertically directioned vibration forces which are given are altered properly according to the condition of the ground, depth required for improvement, etc. Also, even in case where sand is charged through a hopper 6 at the upper part of the steel pipe 7 into the target ground, the steel pipe 7 is pulled up while supplying sand in the similar manner. Thus, improved soil area 9 can be obtained.
