Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance working accuracy and make discharging of defectives virtually obsolete by expanding by heating or contracting by cooling the suitable places of stroke working systems in a mechanical press thereby displacing the relative relation positions of male and female die faces. CONSTITUTION:Based on the data and information of the secular change in the male and female relative relation positions of the die face 56a of a male die 56 and the die face 64a of a female die 64, the suitable places of stroke working systems, that is, one or more of the connection rod 44 and male die holder 54 of a pressurizing system 32, and the female die holder 62 of a pressure receiving system 34 are expanded by heating to above room temp. The press is then operated and these are beforehand adjusted to the proper upper and lower relative relation positions at the die register working when the machine body has sufficiently warmed up. Thence, in compliance with the coefficients of natural temp. rise by the start of operation, the forced heating temp. is gradually decreased thence the above-mentioned suitable places are contracted by cooling down to room temp., whereby the working accuracy at the scoring or drawing is enhanced, and the discharging of nonstandard defectives at the initial period of operation and thereafter is made obsolete.
