Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost, and highly efficient metal mold by means of a simple equipment, by covering fluid resin with superplastic metal plate and making this metal plate in a superplastic state and shaping it into a metal mold. CONSTITUTION:Resin 8 is placed into vessel 10 consisting of container 2 and knockout plate 4 and is heated by heater 3. When resin 8 is melted, superplastic metal plate 11 is placed, and it is held by wrinkle-suppressing plates 9. After metal plate 11 is heated, master punch 5 is moved down. Ram 7a, while exerting proper back pressure on resin 8 and metal plate 11, is moved down. When punch 5 has reached a fixed stroke, the shaping is completed. Next, by raising puch 5, plates 9 and plate 4, a metal mold consisting of resin 8 and metal plate 11 is knocked out from container 2.
