Abstract

PURPOSE: To form bent pipes of intricate shapes with a simple constitution by filling high-pressure liquid in a blank pipe and letting an upper die and a lower die make close contact.
CONSTITUTION: A blank pipe 1 is supported in a rest seat 9 formed in continuation to the die half 8 of a lower die 3. While an upper die 2 is being lowered, high-pressure liquid is filled in the blank pipe 1 from the liquid pressure inlet path 5 in a pressure piston 4 which is pressed to the top end of the blank pipe 1. During this time, the blank pipe 1 is forced into a sliding part 6. Next, while the lower die 3 is being moved in the direction to be approached to the upper die 2, the upper die 2 is raised. The upward movement of the upper die 2 and the transverse movement of the lower die 3 are accomplished until the die halves 7, 8 mate with each other. The blank pipe 1 is completely molded in compliance with the shape of the total die. Next, the high-pressure liquid in the pipe 1 is extracted, after which the upper die 2 is moved upward and the lower die 3 to the outer side, thence the molding is taken out.
