Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the three dimensionally curved sheet with the improved product accuracy by the simplified forming work, by first bending the flat sheet into a cylindrical shape, by taking the blank sheet from this curved sheet, ans by three dimensionally curving this blank.
CONSTITUTION: The flat sheet 1 is prepared in the size inclusive of the successively laid blanks 2a, whose shape is obtained by developing the three dimensionally curved surface into the flat plane, and the spare length 2b on both ends; this flat sheet 1 is pressed between the male die 3 and the female die 4 and is formed into a cylindrical shape (the first step). Next, the blank 2a is cut out of the cylinder, and is pressed by the male die 5 and the female die 6 and hereby is three dimensionally curved (the second step). Then, the pad 7 is put to the three dimensionally curved blank 2a, and the both ends of the blank 2a are pressed by the simply constituted pushers 8; by changing the height of the wedges 9 for adjusting the droop of the sheet end, the forming work is completed. According to the presnet method, the spare length 2a is not required for every blank 2a in performing the three dimensional forming work, so that the material yield is improved, and besides, since the adjustment of the droop is attained by the pusher 8, the expensive die is unnecessary.
