Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the specific gravity of the electrolyte of a lead storage battery without interrupting electric feed, by preventing air bubbles from entering into a propagation path for an ultrasonic wave, by surrounding the external circumference of the propagation path with a filter having an opening atop. CONSTITUTION:Into lead storage battery 20 consisting of electrodes 17 and 18 with leads 15 and 16 in electrolyte cell 14 and electrolyte 19, such as a solution of sulfuric acid, specific gravity measurement part 2 of ultrasonic aerometer 1 is inserted.
