Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain high resolution even if the document in step drive with a step motor is continuously driven, by making the period of its multiple of intermittent illumination of the light source (xenon lamp) in intermittent illumination synchronized with the scanning period of line sensor. The scanning period is set with the frequency-division clock from the synchronizing control circuit 9. The frequency division clock from the synchronizing control circuit 9 is given to the step motor 7 via the drive circuit 8 and it is done with the roller 6 directly coupled with it. When the document 1 is driven with the step motor 7, the movement of the document 1 can be regarded as almost continuous drive and no image flows and high resolution can be obtained.
