Abstract

PURPOSE:To transfer a signal without a buffer, by transferring the picture signal synchronously with the progress of the processing in a signal processing part. CONSTITUTION:A picture 1 is sent to a photoelectric converting part 3 as optical signal by a light source 2 and is conveted to a picture signal. When the processing of a processing unit for the picture signal is completed, a signal processing part 5 sends a signal 20 to a readout control part 6 to instruct the readout of the picture signal. The readout control part 6 sends a clock pulse 21 of a variable period, which is synchronized with the timing of the signal 20, to the photoelectric converting part as a readout signal. The converting part 3 which receives the clock pulse transfers a picture signal 22 of a processing unit to the signal processing part 5 synchronously with the clock pulse 21. The control part 6 transfers a signal which indicates the timing of driving for scanning, to a scanning control part 7 in parallel with the clock pulse, and a driving signal 16 of a motor 8 for scanning the original is generated to scan the original. Thus, the picture signal is transferred without a buffer.
