Abstract
PURPOSE:To arrange so that a torque may be transmitted even when the relative number of rotations of input and output parts by providing the second connection body having a hysteresis magnetic member which closes a magnetic circuit and fixing an electroconductive material opposed to a magnetic piece on the magnetic member. CONSTITUTION:The first connection body 3 equipped with magnetic pieces 2 arranged in such manner that heteropoles may alternately be constituted in a circumferential direction, is fixed on a main shaft 1. At the same time, a main shaft 6 is supported on the first connection body 3 on the same axis as the main shaft 1 in a freely rotatable fashion. Also a hysteresis magnetic member 8 is fixed on the main shaft 6 on a concentric circle through the intermediary of a support 10, opposed to the magnetic piece 2 through a clearance 9. On a surface opposed to the magnetic piece 2 on the magnetic member 8, a copper plate 11 which becomes an electroconductive material is fixed and this magnetic member 8 and the copper plate 11 constitute the second connection body 12. Thus it is possible to obtain an high-quality eddy current joint which can be operated in a synchronous manner when it is used as a clutch and with high efficiency and less heat generation.
