Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve workability for assembly of a spring, by providing protrusive elements radially internally and externally in a face-to-face position respectively to a turbine and clutch plate and forming retainer parts, with a different direction for mount-removal of the spring, to the protrusive elements. CONSTITUTION:A torque converter is such constituted that a clutch plate 9 is interposed between a turbine 7 and an input case 4 combined to an input shaft 2 and this clutch plate 9 is coupled to the turbine 7 through a circumferentially longish coil spring 10 in a relatively rotatable state with each other. In this case, protrusive elements 11, 12 are provided radially internally and externally at a face-to-face position to the turbine 7 and the clutch plate 9, and there are formed the first retainer part 13, capable of radially inserting and removing the spring 10, in one of the elements while the second retainer part 14, capable of axially inserting and removing the spring 10, in the other. Then the spring 10 is held between these retainer parts 13, 14 to couple the turbine 7 and the clutch plate 9.
