Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold surface pressure of metallic-mold split surface uniform and in a set range by detecting the elongation of the part where tensile force is generated at the time of the mold clamping of tie bars provided between a fixed platen and supporting part for mold-tightening- force-generator, and by suppressing the tensile force in the set range automatically by releasing the mold. CONSTITUTION:The elongation of the part where tensile force is generated in mold clamping is detected with regard to tie bars 18 provided between fixed platen 14 and supporting part 16 for mold-clamping force-generator; when the arithmetic mean of the elongation of respective tie bars 18 is less than a set lower limit, the mold is released without casting and the part of tie bar 18 generating the tensile force is shortened by its difference from a set center value. When the mean is between a set upper limit and an allowable limit, the casting is carried out and the part of tie bar 18 generating the tensile force is elongated by the difference from the set center value until the mold release of the next casting and when the mean exceeds the allowable limit, the part of tie bar 18 generating the tensile force is elongated by the difference from the set center value without casting, thereby suppressing automatically the arithmetic mean of the elongation of respective tie bars 18 in mold clamping within the set range through a die height adjusting mechanism.
