Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the low temp. reduction indexes of upper and lower starting material layers and homogenize sintered ore by arranging ≥2 series of sintering starting material chargers anc charging starting materials mixed with inorg. chloride from the 1st charger to increase the concn. of inorg. chloride in the lower starting material layer.
CONSTITUTION: Along the rotating direction of pallet 6, are arranged ≥2 ore feed hoppers 4a, 4b in series. Sintering starting materials A mixed with inorg. chloride B other than alkali metal chlorides are stored in front hopper 4a. When starting materials are fed onto pallet 6 from hoppers 4a, 4b by an adequate amount each, starting materials layers are sent toward a firing furnace and sintered at a state where the concn. of inorg. chloride in the lower layer is made higher than that in the upper layer. By this method the low temp. reduction powdering index of the whole sintered ore is improved, and the conditions of a blast furnace are stabilized to increase the amount of iron discharged and reduce the fuel ratio.
