Abstract
PURPOSE: To product a original soft sheet for tin plating at a low cost by hot rolling and cold rolling rimmed steel or capped steel to a steel strip then subjecting the same to annealing and further over-aging treatment under a specific condition.
CONSTITUTION: Slag of rimmed steel or capped steel contg. <0.10% C, 0.15W 0.40% Mn, <0.025% P, and <0.030% S is hot rolled to a steel strip at the temp. just below the Ar3 transformation point. This steel strip is wound to a coil at temp. above 560°C. After this steel strip coil is cold rolled at 70W90% drafts, it is heated and soaked for more than 20 seconds in a temp. range of the recrystallization temp. or 910°C by a continuous annealing method, after which it is cooled at ≤20°C/sec cooling rates. Or after the above-mentioned heating and soaking treatment, it is cooled down to the over-aging temp. at 20W100°C/sec cooling rates, following to which it is subjected to over-aging treatment in a 300W500°C temp. range. The steel strip as a soft original plate for Sn plating is produced at a low cost.
