Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a defoaming agent having no repellent phenomenon but excellent defoaming effect by mixing given amounts of an oxyalkelene group- containing organopolysiloxane, an organopolysiloxane, and a silica-based filler. CONSTITUTION:A defoaming agent is obtained by uniformly mixing 100pts.wt. oxyalkylene group-containing organopolysiloxane, prepared from the addition reaction of an oxyalkylene compound having organic group with unsaturated bond in its molecule and an organopolysiloxane with hydrogen atom in the presence of a platinum compound, 1-200pts.wt. organosiloxane, prepared from the addition reaction of a C8 or more olefinic compound, e.g., octene, alpha-methylstyrene, etc., and methylhydrodiene polysiloxane in the presence of a platinum compound, and 0.01-60pts.wt. silica-based filler in a mixer, e.g., colloid mill, etc.
