Abstract

PURPOSE: To exactly detect the defects of a membrane module for separating liquid in order to obtain a high quality product by comparing the ratio of effluente rate from other space when two kinds of fluids are supplied to one space with the ratio of the transmission coefficient of fluids.
CONSTITUTION: A stop valve 18 is closed, the valve 14 of the first fluid supply mechanism 12 is opened, and the first fluid is supplied under a given pressure to a high-pressure side space inside the main container 2. The flow rate GA of the first fluid coming out of the low-pressure side space 5 is measured by a flow meter 19, and then the valve 14 is closed, the valve 15 of the second fluid supply mechanism 13 is opened, and the second fluid is supplied to the high-pressure side space 4. Then, the flow rate GB of the second fluid coming out of the low-pressure side space 5 is measured likewise. And, the GA/GB ratio is compared with the ratio of the transmission coefficient QA for the first fluid of the separation membrane 3 to the transmission coefficient QB for the second fluid, and if the GA/GB ratio is equal to the QA/QB ratio, the result is determined as no defect.
