Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply carry out an output control of a switching power supply upon change of the switching frequency in operation by employing a saturable transformer having a property of varying an output waveform duty cycle in response to the alteration of an input frequency. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator circuit 20 consists of a switching transistor TR21, primary winding 30A of a saturable transformer 30 inserted into the collector side of the transistor, and a feedback winding 30B and the like. The oscillation output is presented at the secondary winding 30C of the transformer 30, is rectified and smoothed through a rectifier and smoothing circuit 40, and is then supplied to output terminals C, D. On the other hand, a control circuit 70 is provided in the base circuit of the transistor TR21 to control the switching frequency of the operation of the transistor TR21, negative voltage is produced through a diode 71 with respect to the emitter of the TR21 from the feedback winding 30B, is smoothed through a capacitor 72, and is then applied through a controlled TR73 to the base of the TR21. In this manner it can simply control the output of the switching power supply.
