Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable detection with high precision by a method wherein a dual frequency vibration pulse generated by causing high-frequency vibration intermittently is impressed on the coil of a vibration contactor. CONSTITUTION:The coil 3 is wound round a rod-shaped electrostrictive vibrator 2 of AlFe or Ni connected to the contactor 1. A charging switch 6 and a two-directional switch 8, such as a thyristor, provided in a resonant circuit composed of a three-phase AC power source 5, an oscillating capacitor 7 and the coil 3 are made conductive alternately by a pulser 9. When the switch 6 is turned on, the capacitor is charged and then, when the switch 8 is turned on, only the positive pulse of vibration current flows to the coil 3 through the intermediary of a rectifying body 10. By repeated turning-on and turning-off of the switches 6 and 8, the pulse of dual high-frequency vibration is impressed on the coil 3 and the state of vibration of the contactor 1 is changed by approach of an object and detected by a pickup 4. By this method, detection with high precision can be performed.
