Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of light at the maximum and thereby supply a light- receiving element with sufficient light to be measured even when the input of the light to be measured is very weak by arranging a rotary prism in such a manner that the rotary shaft thereof is in accord with the optical axis of the light to be measured which is introduced from a light-introducing port. CONSTITUTION:Inside the body 1 of the device is arranged the column-shaped rotary prism 2 driven for its rotation by a motor 12. This rotary prism 2 is constituted in such a manner that the rotary shaft thereof is made to be accord with the optical axis of the light to be measured which is introduced into the body 1 of the device from the light-introducing port 4 and that one end surface thereof on the side of the light-introducing port 4 is formed into a concave mirror 3 having an axis tilted at an angle of 45 deg. to the rotary shaft. This concave mirror 3 concentrates at the light-receiving element 6 the light falling through the light-introducing port 4. Then, reflected light from a substance 8 to be measured irradiated by irradiating light from a light source 9 is introduced into the body 1 of the device through an optical fiber 7. Thus, sufficient light to be measured can be supplied to the light- receiving element inside the body 1 of the device even when the light to be measured is a weak light.
