Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide sufficient performance as a catalyst for hydrogenation reaction by dissolving and extracting metallic soap formed by a double decomposition process with an org. compound used for hydrogenation reaction and rinsing the same.
CONSTITUTION: Alkali metallic salt of fatty acid having 6W22 carbon numbers and a water soluble metallic salt are double-decomposed in the presence of 0.01W 1.0wt% surfactant for said alkali metallic salt, whereby metallic soap is formed. This metallic soap is decomposed in an org. compound such as dodecyl alcohol used for hydrogenation reaction such as reaction of long-chain alcohol and dimethylamine, and after the mixture is stirred and is left still, it is removed of water content. By this treatment, the catalyst for hydrogenation reaction which does not contain a slight amount of catalyst poison components such as sulfur compound and halogen compound is obtained.
