Abstract

PURPOSE: To apply high-concn. desorbing gas in a short time and make possible continuous gas adsorption by using plural pieces of active carbon cases consisting of walls which are porous on both sides alternately for adsorption and desorbing the gas therefrom by spark discharge into a degassing chamber formed by dampers.
CONSTITUTION: If the wind intake port 3" of a blower 3 is connected to the flue of, for example, a heavy oil boiler, and the exhasut gas is passed through the branch wind path a1 on the left side, SOx and NOx in the exhaust gas are adsorbed in an active carbon case 6. When the active carbon in the case 6 are approximately saturated by the adsorbed gas, cylinders 15, 18 are operated to change over the exhaust gas to the other wind path a2 and the adsorption is continued with the case 6'. During this time, in the case 6 for which the dampers 10, 11 are closed, pulse voltage is applied to electrodes 8, 8... to cause spark discharge among active carbon particles 7, whereby the adsorbed gas is desorbed. Since the desorbed gas of a high concn. is produced in a short time in a dehydrating chamber b of a small volume by the spark discharge, it is taken out through a taken-out port 10 provided to a pipe body 2 and is subjected to suitable treatment.
