Abstract
1525916 Separating exhaust gas mixtures OTTO DURR GmbH and CO 13 June 1977 [14 June 1976] 24527/77 Heading B1L A process for purifying exhaust air containing combustible vapours and/or gaseous constituents comprises passing the exhaust air via a feed line 2 through at least one adsorber vessel 1 containing e.g. activated charcoal, until a predetermined quantity of the constituents have been adsorbed, obtaining by hyperstoichiometric combustion in combustion chamber 5 e.g. of oil from 13, a flue gas having a relatively small residual oxygen content, humidifying and cooling the flue gas by injecting water into it, e.g. by device 7, passing the flue gas via 6 through the filter in chamber 1 to effect desorbtion returning, the flue gas to combustion 5 in a closed circuit e.g. via 4 thermally purifying the returned flue gas in the combustion chamber, returning the flue gas to the filter to desorb it, constantly discharging a proportion of the flue gas to atmosphere via 26 to maintain a substantially constant mass balance, and when the filter is substantially completely desorbed, passing exhaust air to be cleaned therethrough.
