Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce thickness by supporting load at three points by means of three sensors of electrostatic capacity detecting type or resistance detection type using a diaphragm, connecting the sensors in series and determining the load from the change in their impedances. CONSTITUTION:One electrode 2 is formed on the main plane of an alumina-made base table 1, and an alumina-made diaphragm 4 is disposed via a spacer 2. The diaphragm 4 is made deformable with load, and is formed with an electrode at its center. If load W is applied to the sensor of such construction from the diaphragm 4 side, the electrostatic capacity C between the electrodes 2 and 5 changes, and is expressed by W=K-(L/C) (K, L: constants). If the load is supported at three points and the sensors are disposed at the respective points, the load W of the entire part is expressed by W=3K-[L/(C1+C2+C3)]; therefore, if the three sensors are connected in series, the load W is determined from their composite electrostatic capacity.
