Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the idle braking distance of brakes when a train is braked via an ATC or an ATS brake by incorporating a constant timing factor inversely proportional to a speed in a timing element for the outputs of an ordinary brake and an emergency brake.
CONSTITUTION: A pattern generating circuit 3 outputs an ATC pattern pulse fp in response to the ATC speed limit signal from an ATC receiver 1. The output of a tachometer generator 7 is converted through a waveform shaping circuit 2 to a speed pulse fv. A frequency comparator 4 produces an excitation output when the ATC pattern pulse fp is less than the speed pulse fv and a nonexcitation output when it is more than that. A variable timing circuit 5 feeds the output of the comparator 4 with a delay time inversely proportional to the speed pulse fv to a power amplifier 6 and an ordinary brake ANBR. Thus, the idle braking distance of the brake can be minimized to shorten the operating head of the train.
