Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent copies from being left forgetfully and taken out double, by making it clear which original copying is restarted at after a jam occurs by using an original counter which goes up every time an original is fed to a platen and decreases in value on the completion of ejection. CONSTITUTION:The copying machine having semiautomatic original feeder (SADH) is provided with an original counter. The counter counts up by one every time an original is fed to the platen and counts down by one on ejection. Jam detectors (c), (d) and (e) are provided and once a jam occurs, the value of the original counter is displayed on display lamps 1, 2 and 3 through a control circuit. For example, copy forms N2', N3' and N4' are positioned as shown in the figure to originals N2, N3 and N4 in case of one original and one copy. Original N4 is being drawn into SADH, N3 is being fed out, and the value of the original counter is +3. If the jam of N2' is detected in this state, display lamp 3 turns on, so three upper ejected originals are returned and copying is restarted at N2. Thus, copies are prevented from being left forgetfully or taken out double.
