Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the operability of an automatic original feeder by detecting insertion of an original thereby to control the feed starting time.
CONSTITUTION: When original setting signals are fed to a NAND circuit U1 in response to insertion of an original into an automatic original feeder, the circuit U1 judges the setting conditions of an auto-mode in response to application of copy enabling signals and auto-mode setting signals. If the conditions are satisfied, the automatic feed of originals and the start of the copying operations are effected a preset time later through a timer in response to the inverted output of the circuit U1. As a result, an operator who is not familiar to the copying operation can accomplish the copying operation without operating the opreation starting command buttons of the feeder and the copying apparatus thereby to provide an automatic original feeder of satisfactory operability. Incidentally, if a trouble such as jamming takes place, the automatic feeder is stopped in rsponse to the resetting signals through a NOR circuit U2.
