Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the cutting accuracy of a wire rod coil by measuring the rolling length of the wire rod, and operating bisection time thereby bundling and cutting the wire rod coil equal to the divided times.
CONSTITUTION: When a wire rod passes finishing roll mills 12 and reaches a hot ingot detector 15, a detection signal is transmitted to a gate 26 and a clock 28. Then, the gate 26 allows the passage of the pulses from a pulse generator 14 during inputting of the detection signal; at the same time, it starts the clock 28. Then, when a counter 27 counts a predetermined number of the passed pulses, the content of the clock 28 of that time is registered into a register 1. Then, the counter 27 counts a required number of pulses and successively registers the contents of the clock 28 into a register 2. When the trailing end of the wire rod passes the detector 15, the gate 26 closes and the clock 28 stops. Then, from the total number of pulses and pulse separation, the time for bisecting the wire rod is obtained in an arithmetic device 30, and is registered in a register 31. Thence, the contents of the registers 31 are further transmitted to a timer 32. The timer is started by the coil arriving signal from a detector 20 and dividing shears 23 cut the coil when it goes equal to the value from the register 31.
