PURPOSE:To make the transmission quality uniform in transmission and receiving without degradation of the transmission efficiency, by modulating the transmission and receiving signal by carrier waves which have the same frequency and are different in phase by 90 deg., in the transmission device of two-wire full-duplex two-way communication. CONSTITUTION:The transmission signal from transmission circuit 1 extracts the pilot signal of the carrier wave from the signal received from the other party side, and the phase is shifted in phase shifter 13 by 90 deg., and the signal is modulated by modulator 4 and is transmitted. Meanwhile, the signal from the other party is demodulated by the carrier wave extracted by pilot extracting circuit 16, and the receiving signal is obtained by receiving circuit 11. In the other party station, the modulation signal is taken out from reference oscillator 18. Thus, since the same band is used as receiving and transmission bands, transmission and receiving are not different in line impedance and loss characteristic, and the transmission quality is made uniform to transmit the signal with the 1/2 band.
