PURPOSE:To enhance mass-productivity of the ultrathin quartz oscillator, by using adhesives different in melting point as the adhesive, which causes the upper vessel and the oscillator to adhere to each other, and the adhesive, which causes the lower vessel and the oscillator to adhere to each other, to seal the oscillator airtightly. CONSTITUTION:Quartz oscillator 4 with frame is caused to adhere to lower vessel 5b by high-temperature solder 6b, and vessel 5b is turned upside down, and upper vessel 5a is put on it. Under this state, air in vessels is evacuated, and heat is applied to heat solder 6a of the low-melting point adhesive up to the melting point. Therefore, vessel 5a and oscillator 4 are caused to adhere to each other without the influence upon vessel 5b and oscillator 4 which were caused to adhere to each other first. As a result, upper and lower vessels are not caused to adhere to each other with slippage, and gas generated from the solder is little to have no influence upon the characteristic of the oscillator, and mass-productivity is enhanced.
