Abstract

PURPOSE: To arrange so that even at a great water depth, submerged construction work may be performed easily by monitoring a depth and a level and performing the tampering/levelling off of a riprap layer with the assistance of a device suspended from an operating ship with regard to the captioned construction work involving the erection of a breakwater.
CONSTITUTION: A riprap layer 5 is tampered and an elevation is crushed/levelled off by repeating the alternating operation of winding up a device 2 suspended from an operating ship and letting it drop freely by its own weight at a location with any appropriate head near the surface of a riprap layer at the water bottom 4. During this operation, the posture of the said device is monitored by means of a level detector and the work continues until the water depth from the surface of a riprap layer 5 that is indicated through conversion by means of a depth meter 14 almost reached the value equivalent to the neighborhood of a target finished base face 22. When an inclination is confirmed, a group of oscillation elements 12 belonging to the sharper side of an indication are selected and are selectively operated and are continued until the level detector 13 indicated a level and a target finished base face 22 monitored by the depth meter 14 was correctly reached.
