Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of uneven stress force at each depth level, by a method wherein, in the construction of a quay, a corrugation, which is formed resulting from the combination of sheet piles, is installed in the direction of a depth.
CONSTITUTION: A pile part 2a of a stay 2 is driven into a sea bottom ground, and a large number of the stays 2 are erected upright at proper intervals. A corrugation wall unit, consisting of sheet piles 1a, 1b... being different in size, is hung down by means of a crane and the like, and is lowered at the inside of the stays 2 in a state that the side, where the corrugation is increased in its size, is directed downward and to a land side, and a lowermost sheet pile 1e of the corrugation is caused to contact the ground. Tie rods 3 are joined to the upper part of the stays 2, and are securly fixed to anchors located at the land side of the wall unit. The inside of the wall unit is filled up to the upper end of the wall unit with a filler, such as earth and sand.
