Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound of formula I (M is group of formula II, formula III, etc.; Y is none, 1,4-biphenylene, 1,4-naphthylene, etc.; A is COOH, COOCH3, CH2OH, etc.; n is 5W60).
EXAMPLE: The compound of formula IV wherein n is 34.
USE: Hydrogenation catalyst of organic unsaturated compounds, liquid crystal material, polarizing film, electrical conductive or semiconductive material, and carcinostatic agent.
PROCESS: The compound of formula V is prepared by reacting a compound of formula HC≡C-Y-C≡CH with a compound of formula X-M-X (X is halogen) at a molar ratio of 0.60W0.97. The compound of formula V thus obtained is reacted with a compound of formula A-C≡C-A to afford the compound of formula I. Both reactions are carried out in the presence of a cuprous halide catalyst in a basic solvent such as diethylamine.
