Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound readily in high yield, by reacting an ether containing iodine more easily available than an acid fluoride instead of hexafluoropropylene oxide with a metal, e.g. Mg or Cu, or an organometallic compound to remove the IF.
CONSTITUTION: An ether containing iodine of the formula (X is H, Cl, Br, F, CO2R, CONRR' or COF; R and R' are H or 1W10C alkyl) is reacted with at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Mg, Cu, Zn, Zn-Cu pair, Zn-Cd pair, Zn-Pb pair, Zn-Hg pair, Sn and Sb or at least one selected from an organomagnesium compound, e.g. RMgBr, and an organolithium compound, e.g. butyllithium, preferably in the presence of a solvent, e.g. dioxane or diphenyl ether, to give the aimed compound. In the case of the reaction in the solvent, a fluorinated organometallic compound intermediate formed is decomposed to give the aimed compound; however, the decomposition step is preferably provided separately.
