Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the titled toner which has a sufficient degree of blackening and does not produce any photographic fog by containing the polymer obtained by polymerizing a prepolymer of a monomer and reactive polyester.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. a monomer such as styrene or ethylene, 10W50pts.wt. reactive polyester of ≥1,000 weight-average mol.wt. having reactive groups in the main or side chains and a coloring agent such as carbon black or magnetic material are prepolymerized in a manner that the rate of polymerization assumes ≤10%, whereby the prepolymer is obtained. Next, this prepolymer is suspension- polymerized in the presence of a polymerization initiator and a diffusion stabilizer, whereby the toner for electrostatic charge development consisting of the polymer of 50,000W1,000,000mol.wt. and 100W170°C softening points is obtained. Thereby, the toner of superior developability, transferability, and fixability is obtained, and in the case of multiple sheets of continuous copies using such a toner, no charging deterioration occurs and the sharp images are obtained.
